This week in Photos of the Week – YES Photographies (#20): wise elf and sensual elf.
I invite you on a journey to a world that is neither medieval nor fantastical, but an inner realm, a landscape of presence where two elven figures appear: one speaks to the light, the other speaks to the body. YES Photographies (#20): wise elf and sensual elf
Do these photos speak to you? Leave a ❤️ or a comment: I love hearing what you think.
Two presences, one breath
On one side, a wise elf, standing in the transparency of a white morning. She does not seek to seduce, she welcomes. Draped in silence, she seems to come from another time, from a slower, gentler world. Her hands speak in calm gestures, her gaze is a clear mirror. Everything about her posture evokes balance, listening, clarity.
On the other, a sensual elf, like a shiver of warm light in the cold air. She does not provoke; she breathes, radiates, embodies. Her sensuality is not a costume, but a vibration. Her gestures prolong her breath. She does not offer herself to the gaze: she expresses herself through it, fully present, fully free.
A fertile tension between wisdom and embodiment
This series was born from a question: what if sensuality were just a form of embodied wisdom? Rather than contrasting restraint with boldness, I wanted to create two figures in dialogue. The wise elf observes, traverses, illuminates. The sensual elf touches, absorbs, transforms. One looks toward the stars, the other dives into the earth.
The wise elf
The first figure evokes forgotten tales. She is a meditative presence, a gentle, almost mineral silence. The lines are pure, the fabrics simple, the light pearly. I wanted to capture peace, that rare feeling when you have nothing left to prove.
The sensual elf
The second is anchored in the carnal, in the intensity of life. She dances with the light rather than receiving it. Her nudity is not a revelation, but a sense of belonging. To the flesh, to the world, to the breath. Each image is a heartbeat, a warm wave.
Photographing to create an inner myth
Through these two figures, I continue my exploration of female archetypes. The elf, here, is not a legendary creature, but a form of being, an embodied state of mind. Photography then becomes a way of summoning these presences, of making them visible, almost tangible, to better reconnect us to what they awaken in us.
Two energies, one vibration
What if these two elves were just two breaths of the same being? One illuminates, the other ignites. One watches, the other vibrates. Together, they map out the feminine in its most subtle nuances. Neither object nor role. Just presence, offered to the light, offered to the gaze, offered to the living.
Have a wonderful week, everyone,
