Echoes of the past
The Virtual Galleries
YESPHOTOGRAPHIES

In this gallery, time no longer exists. The women photographed cease to be models and become pictorial, historical, almost legendary figures. Here, black and white often imposes itself as a matter of course, bringing to the surface an ancient emotion, an echo of what once was — or what we dream of having been.
Intimacy takes on a solemn, almost sacred dimension here. These works engage in direct dialogue with art history: from Renaissance frescoes to 19th-century studio portraits. But beneath these retro appearances lies a contemporary perspective, which plays with the codes of the past to better sublimate them.
Each woman becomes an icon of her era: a Victorian muse, a forgotten goddess or a film noir heroine. Their poses tell a story that goes far beyond fashion; they speak of inner strength, quiet power and inherited grace.
When artistic nudity enters the scene, it is treated like a painting. Far from immediate seduction, these images are sensitive evocations of beauty frozen in amber. They do not seek to capture a glance, but to suggest a story. They invite us to imagine the lives these women might have lived.
Here, sensuality is muted, never overt. It is inscribed in the grain of the photograph, in the texture of a fabric, in a forgotten gesture. These are visual memories, a bridge suspended between yesterday and today.
