Photos of the Week - Embodied Intimacies: Leather & Latex FineArt - When leather and latex break free of cliché to become pure sculpture of light.

Updated on 19 April 2026

Welcome to this third post of the month. After storytelling and graphics, today we enter the most sensitive sphere of the studio: Embodied Intimacies. This is the moment of the month when I invite you to slow down, to come closer. This category is dedicated to sensuality, the grain of the skin and the authenticity of stolen moments. Less pose, more presence... it is an invitation to see beauty at its most fleshly and most human.

Leather & Latex FineArt - When leather and latex break free of cliché to become pure sculpture of light.
Treating leather and latex from a fineart angle means taking on an Everest of cultural prejudices and a genuine technical headache. The moment these materials are touched, the collective imagination tips instantly into fetishist cliché or the gaze of the object. My major challenge in the studio was precisely to strip these textures of their expected charge and keep only their plastic purity, geometry and evocative power. I wanted to see them not as disguises, but as an extension of matter itself, a second skin that one carves with shadow.
Technically, latex is a merciless mirror. It catches the slightest light source, creates aggressive hot spots and instantly flattens volumes if the lighting is badly controlled. To get around this trap, I banned direct flashes. I chose to work with large, very diffuse modifiers placed in partial backlight, caressing the curve of the silhouette rather than flooding it. Conversely, matt leather absorbs the night. It is in this permanent contrast, this vibrant tension between the liquid shine of latex and the textured opacity of leather, that the dialogue takes hold.
On set, the working dynamic completely excludes the ‘Male Gaze’. My model is not there to endure the gaze, she imposes her presence. She becomes a living structure, a sculptural force that plays with the rigidity of leather and the nervous suppleness of latex. In this quest for graphic dreaminess, the artistic nude breaks free of conventions to flirt with abstraction and the architecture of forms.
This series marks an important step in my approach to art photography. In shaping these dark reflections, I realised that the art of the nude has no need of frills to hit the mark: sometimes it is enough to confront the texture of skin with the rigour of a modern armour to reveal a raw, powerful and unsuspected poetry.
To see this week’s exhibitions or all of my work, here are the options:
NEW: Buy access to a specific archive gallery individually for even more freedom.
I hope this sensual interlude touched you. Only one last door remains to be opened to close the month in style. Next week, I will unveil the What’s New in the Studio series, the final bouquet where I allow myself every technical experiment and the most accomplished stagings. Be there for the end of the cycle!
