Welcome to this third post of the month. After storytelling and graphics, today we enter the most sensitive sphere of the studio: Embodied Intimacies. This is the moment of the month when I invite you to slow down, to come closer. This category is dedicated to sensuality, the grain of the skin and the authenticity of stolen moments. Less pose, more presence... it is an invitation to see beauty at its most fleshly and most human.

An Ocean of Eroticism, Women of Water, Mythology of Water and Metamorphosis of Bodies

The myth of the mermaid is a chromatic and narrative trap. How can you evoke the ocean depths, these mythological women of the water, without sinking into kitsch imagery or artificial illustration? That is the challenge I set myself with this new art photography series. As a photographer, I treat colour as a physical, almost tactile texture. Working in tones of deep blue and turquoise amounts to plunging the skin into a bath of liquid ink where the light must struggle to make these women of the water exist.

The real challenge of this session lay in colour grading. Immersing a silhouette in cool casts immediately alters flesh tones, threatening to turn human warmth into a spectral pallor or, worse, an artificial digital effect. I sculpted the light so that the nacre of the skin would answer the vibrations of the turquoise without dissolving into it. Every curve becomes a reef, every reflection a foam.

The art of the nude lodges itself here in the tension between the organic and the elemental. The model is not simply placed in a set; she emerges from the marine darkness, powerful and sovereign, embodying an ancient divinity who expects nothing from the gaze of others. The grain of the skin, preserved with an almost mineral rigour, stands against the suggested fluidity of the water. A demanding exploration of dreaminess and matter, where the artistic nude echoes the first mornings of the world.

I hope this sensual interlude touched you. Only one last door remains to be opened to close the month in style. Next week, I will unveil the What’s New in the Studio series, the final bouquet where I allow myself every technical experiment and the most accomplished stagings. Be there for the end of the cycle!

This Week’s Raw Studio Shots

This week I am inaugurating a fundamental section on my site: a direct look behind the scenes of the lab, showcasing our raw studio images, where the truth of the sensor meets raw intention. To open the ball on this new category, I chose a session of rare intensity, built around a timeless goddess figure. Here, no complex digital artifice, but a return to the fundamentals of the studio: fabric, metal, the body.

The starting point was purely tactile and sculptural. I wanted to confront skin with the vividness of highly saturated drapery. A vibrant orange fabric, massive jewellery with a matt lustre, and a magnificent red fabric, heavy, almost theatrical. Working with drapery of such chromatic strength demands absolute rigour in the placement of my flashes. The red and the orange must not saturate the space to the point of hiding the volume; they must embrace it.

The vocabulary of sculpture comes into its own here. I draped the model the way one models clay, looking for the break of the fold, the cast shadow of the cloth on the flesh, the point of contact where the jewel anchors onto the skin. The art of the nude reinvents itself in this confrontation with adornment. The model is not undressed, she is clothed in pure presence. This first glimpse of the studio’s secrets shows art photography in its rawest and noblest dimension.
